Why Oil Spill Happen:-

Oil spill is the leakage of oil on the large surface of water. It mostly happens at the oceanic sights and it has become the major problem for sea life and environment. oil spill happens thousands times within a year worldwide in sea.

Oil spill damages the sea lives and most importantly it causes countless other problems for those people who love to eat sea food.

Effects of Oil Spill:-

Oil is an ancient fossil fuel which can be used in multiple ways. On the contrary, if that oil spills on the surface of water then it can effect the sea lives as well as human lives. Oil spill can bring a lot of problems with itself such as:

* It can ruin the beaches which will eventually effect human lives

* It can harm sea creatures

*It can have negative impact on sea lives growth

*It can make the food unsafe to eat

Oil spill can destroy the mammals, sea birds and fishes. when Dolphin or Whale try to clean themselves and inhale under the water, then oil can go in them which will eventually anguish them and other marine lives will also get traumatized with it.

Causes of Oil spill:-

Oil spill can cause due to human carelessness ,natural disasters ,conscious or unconscious acts and many others. The main cause of oil spill is the mistakes that seafarers do on ships and negligence in their responsibilities.

The other cause of oil spill is malfunction equipment which is loaded on the ships in large quantity and the breakdown of petroleum appliances on the ships can also cause major oil spill. If we talk about oil tanker ships which are used to import and export the oil, their leakage can be dreadful for sea lives.

Natural Disasters like heavy storms, unexpected weather changes which make the sea rough and torrential rain can cause oil spill on the surface of water body. In the ocean, breakage or leakage of underline pipes can also cause major oil spill.

Prevention of Oil Spill:-

There are various steps of prevention of oil spill. Let’s talk about the first and very important entity. To prevent oil spill in the sea, we should train all the crew members on ships and should give them all the measures and make them aware of all the necessary precautions which are needed such as:

*Tighten the main bolt of the tanker perfectly

*Replace or Amend the cracked parts of machinery

*Don’t fill the tankers to the peak.
